- We reached out to stakeholders throughout the Park and initiated partnerships that will move the trails and lodging effort forward.
- We compiled a report titled “A Conceptual Plan for a Hut-to-Hut Destination-based Trail System for the Five Towns of Long Lake, Newcomb, Indian Lake, Minerva, and North Hudson” which recommends 26 possible hut-to-hut routes within the Five Towns and should be made public soon.
- We partnered with the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry on their Great South Woods project and assisted in the design and facilitation of their public meetings.
The Adirondack Loon and Trails Center will be a vital hub for:
- Sharing information about our exciting new Adirondack ecotourism initiative to establish a hut-to-hut trail and paddle network linking communities throughout the Park;
- Serving as the Park’s primary resource for loon conservation, science, and outreach;
- Informing Adirondack residents and visitors about the natural and cultural resources of the Park
